  • Tab 2 Icthus

IcthusWhat you may ask is Icthus?

Icthus is the Greek term for 'fish'. We felt that Icthus was an appropriate name because most of our meetings are fellowship and study in one another's homes. The original Christian churches were home churches and often used the term Icthus as a code word when trying to find out whose home worship would be in that day. If they asked the wrong person where Icthus was, they would simply be pointed to the fish market rather than escorted to prison. In taking this new name, the group would also invite all who are young or young at heart to attend. We host several family-freindly events as well - watch for the activity description for when children are included. While many of our activities traditionally appeal to the demographic of young adults, we want to make sure that everyone knows if you ever wish to join us, the invitation stands.

We welcome everyone who wants to attend our studies or activities.

Visiting a new church for the first time can be a challenge. Here's a little info that may make it easier:

Worship times: 8:30 (Traditional, in the Chapel) and 11:00 (Blended, in the Sanctuary).

Parking: There are a limited number of spots reserved for those who have difficulties with mobility. These are located on the north side of the building, off of Camp Bowie Blvd. Greeters and ushers are always available to help direct you to our Sunday School classes (for children, youth and adults) and worship services.

What to wear: Whatever you feel comfortable in! Some of our members and guests prefer suits and ties, while others wear jeans and other casual attire.

Children: Childcare (for ages 0-5yrs) is available for most worship services; however children of all ages are welcome to worship with us. A special time for children during the service offers the day's message in child-friendly language, and children age 3 years - 1st Grade are invited to go participate in KinderChoir following this time.

What you'll find: A friendly, welcoming community of believers who desire to grow together in their faith, and to serve Jesus Christ in all they do. We do this by learning together, praising God together, and serving our community together. Come join us!
