Greetings, people of Ridglea Presbyterian & Guests!
No, having an interim pastor is not first choice. And having an “interim-interim” prior to the interim—that is…..well, we won’t go there! Experiencing a satisfying, longer term pastoral relationship is your preference and goal—and mine as well.
An interim time can be an important part of what we are being called to be and to do. I join with you not to “mark time” but to work together in vital areas of this congregation’s life. As I am privileged to serve with you during this time, one thing is foremost: it is not about me and my preferences, and I risk saying it is not even about you. As we focus on what we sense God is calling us to be and do, therein lies an interim time that can be productive and satisfying.
One more thing: no, it is not about me nor even about you. Yet…..yet there is no one else to be the community of faith called Ridglea except you…and you…and you…. together. What you want for the church is how God will work with us during this time. So call me….come in, for my door will be open. I look forward to talking with you, sharing together our perceptions of what God is doing among us. For that is happening, if we but have eyes to see.
Sharing the walk,
Jim Brasel |
