Several Presbyterian congregations are throwing a party for the birth of the whole church!Join us for Pentecost Festival 5:30 to 9 p.m. Saturday May 23 on the grounds of Westside Presbyterian Church, 8700 Chapin Rd, Fort Worth, TX 76116.
Come early to eat and drink for free, then play games, listen to music and stay ‘til dusk for fireworks. Every human being is welcome for this family-friendly festival. You don’t have to be Presbyterian or belong to any church to be welcome.
Games for everyone, from Bingo with prizes, horseshoes and carnival activities including some of those huge water guns (bring some dry clothes for that). Food will be ready about 5:30p.m. A club from the church will be offering samples of their craft beer brews.
This the third annual Pentecost Festival, started by Westside Presbyterian which has grown to include the help of other Ft. Worth Presbyterian congregations: Gethsemane, John Knox and Ridglea, plus East Broad Outreach and Church in Mansfield.
Pentecost is the day we celebrate the birthday of the entire church worldwide. It’s when God’s Holy Spirit caused a communication phenomenon that led to the spread of Jesus’ church 2,000 years ago.
