The Console

The view from the pew!

Built by Fort Worth's own Ross King, this is arguably one of the finest instruments in the city.  The three-manual, 61 rank (over 3,000 pipes) organ is designed to lead worship, accompany choirs, soloists and instrumentalists, and for recitals.  In addition to pipes, the organ has chimes, harp, and zimblestern.  If you don't know what that is, picture what "sparkle" would sound like!

Ross King, has produced a video of interest to members of the general public and students who are curious about how an organ makes its musical sounds. Ross narrates the video while, Elisa Williams-Bickers (now in Kansas studying for her doctorate) does the playing. The organ used is the main organ at RPC, which is in the sanctuary (we also have an organ in the chapel). The video is in long and short versions on YouTube.
