Reverend Roger Harwerth
The Reverend Roger A. Harwerth is a graduate of San Francisco Theological Seminary and has served churches in Missouri, Kansas, Texas, Oregon, and Washington. Roger has always been active in Presbytery leadership, including as chair of the Committee on Ministry and as an Ordination Exam Reader. He has been a commissioner to General Assembly (2012) and served on the Personnel Committee of the Synod of the Pacific, as well as being a member of a Presbyterian Disaster Assistance Mission Team (from Eastern Oregon Presbytery) to Birmingham, Alabama. Roger grew up in Overland Park, Kansas, and his home church was Westport Presbyterian in downtown Kansas City, Missouri. Roger and Brenda were high school sweethearts and have been married since 1980. All three of their children (Chris, Amanda, and Hannah) are grown and married, and Roger and Brenda have two grandchildren. Roger enjoys singing in choral groups and is an avid snow-skier; he also enjoys playing Bluegrass and Gospel music on the upright bass.
Patricia has served as RPC's Office Manager since 2016. She loves practicing hospitality by opening her home to family and friends. She has two sons, Chris and Brian, and three lovely grandchildren. Her favorite Bible verse is Romans 8:31: What then shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
Director of Children and Youth
Marlaine has served as the Director of Children and Youth at RPC since 2020. She grew up in Plano, Texas. She has owned and operated three businesses, and has a strong love of languages. She has studied French, Russian, Hebrew, and currently Mandarin Chinese. Marlaine has a Master of Arts in Bible and Theology degree, and a Master of Divinity degree, both from Southwest Assemblies of God University. Marlaine and her son love everything Star Trek, creating art on canvas, and walking in the park near their house. Marlaine’s son is looking forward to High School; Marlaine joyfully says “he is one of the greatest blessings of my life.” Her favorite Bible verse is Proverbs 3:5-6: Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge God, and God will make straight your paths.
Director of Music
John has served as RPC's Director of Music since 2007. He has a Master's Degree in Opera Performance, and when he is not at RPC, he enjoys both performing and attending performances at Bass Hall as well as spending time with his family. John is married to his husband John, and together they have two sons--Hayden and Johnny, and two spoiled dogs--Lancelot and Gwenhwyfar. His favorite Bible verse is Psalm 150.
Dale has served as RPC's organist since 1988. You will often find him eating breakfast at La Madeleine, his favorite restaurant in Fort Worth. Dale's partner Ed also plays the organ, and the two of them are active members of the American Guild of Organists. Dale loves learning languages and traveling, especially to see all the historic organs in other parts of the world. His favorite Bible verse is Psalm 150.
Pier has served as RPC's bookkeeper since May 2013. Her favorite place in Fort Worth is Sundance Square. She and her husband Perry have four daughters, three "sons-in-love" and two amazing grandsons. She LOVES Mexican food, and her favorite Bible verse is Jeremiah 29:11: For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans to prosper you, and not to harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future.
Thomas has served as RPC's custodian since 2002. He is married to Estella, and together they have five children: Monica, Jennifer, Angel, Carla, and Izaiah. When he's not at RPC, he enjoys working in his yard and being with his family. Thomas is known as an early riser, and is often the first person at the church on the days he works.
