Mid-week opportunity for the youth of Ridglea Presbyterian Church to gather from 4:45 – 6:45pm (volunteers needed from 4:30 – 7pm, sign up here).
Adults are needed to help provide food, resources, and share their time with us. We need you to be part of the community- their community- OUR community! There will be laughter, learning, and lots of literature! Words on Wednesdays is an intentional time of building trust in an atmosphere of learning.
For those with time to volunteer on Wednesday afternoons:
We ask adults commit to 2 Wednesdays a month as mentors in a group setting. The time on Wednesdays will flow as follows: food, prayer, games/ trust building, hands-on learning (ex: science experiments), reading and tutoring help.
Your presence and engagement with the youth during this time are what we ask. Maybe you can help with a math problem, or talk about an English paper, read with them, or simply listen and encourage- it is all needed!
A willing heart and belief that all our kids can succeed when the community supports them are needed!
No prior experience necessary.
We work with you and share more specifics with you about the program.
